Ontario Nature will be at the “Eat Algoma Local Food Festival” and offering 2 fantastic workshops on the day BEFORE and AFTER the festival!

Forest Food Entrepreneurial Workshop

August 29 – 10 AM TO 4 PM

Centennial Library, 50 East St. SSM

Are you interested in being part of the diversifi cation of northern Ontario’s economy? If so, you’ll want to join us for our Forest Food Entrepreneur Workshop in Sault Ste. Marie.

Participants will learn about the market for and sustainable harvesting of wild plants. Instruction on developing business plans and accessing funding will be discussed.

Edible Wild Plant Hike

August 31 – 6 PM TO 9 PM

East End Husky, 1275 Trunk Rd. SSM

Join us for a guided tour by Frank Belleau to learn about wild plants in your own backyard. The edible and medicinal properties of many trees, shrubs, and herbs will be discussed. *The walk will happen rain or shine so dress appropriately.
