Walking for better world

On Saturday, with groups across the continent protesting 100 days of U.S. President Donald Trump, 160 people came together in Thunder Bay to walk for a better world. In these days of division and uncertainty, we wanted to celebrate organizations and people working for change in Thunder Bay and our common values of protecting living things - including humans. in a family-friendly event, we walked from Hillcrest Park to Waverley Park where we talked with each other and watched the kids play midway games. An Environment North slack line, Ontario Nature plinko, EcoSuperior trivia wheel, the CUSP activism toss and the Leap launcher were all busy. many groups participated, including the YSI Collaborative, Bridging Resistance Radio Project, Injured Workers' Support Group, Council of Canadians, the TB Vegan Alliance, Poverty-Free Thunder Bay, Diversity Thunder Bay and the newly formed Leap Thunder Bay. And I've missed some! St. Paul's United church graciously provided coffee, tea and sweets.
