Member Group Detail

Durham Region Field Naturalists

Town: Oshawa

Ontario Nature Region: Lake Ontario North

The club was founded in 1955 (and was then known as the Oshawa Naturalist's Club) by a group of individuals interested in birds and wildflowers. Since then we have branched out into other aspects of natural history and have also played an active role in some local environmental issues, mostly related to land development and loss of natural areas.

Meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. on the last Monday of each month, September to May, at the Northview Public Library (corner of Ritson Rd. and Beatrice St., Oshawa). At each meeting, a speaker makes a presentation on some aspect of the natural world. Everyone is welcome.
