Town: Kitchener-Waterloo

Ontario Nature Region: Great Lakes West

Waterloo Region Nature (WRN) strives to educate members about natural history, to encourage participation through meetings and outings, and to help conserve our natural heritage in the region. There is plenty to do. We prowl for owls, feed the chickadees, search for and identify interesting ferns, flowers and trees or hike along the Grand. Our outings, which occur on weekdays and weekends, are led by club members. We also sponsor the WRN Young Naturalists for children aged 7 to 12 who are interested in a hands-on experience with nature.

We have a long history of constructive activism for conservation. Members may volunteer to educate the general public at local events or become part of the political process as the need arises in the local community. We maintain an up-to-date website and encourage you to visit us there. Or come out to a meeting - these are held on the forth Monday of every month from September to May (except December). Our meetings, which feature presentations by interesting speakers on a variety of topics, are free and visitors are always welcome.
