Junction Creek Stewardship Committee

Town: Sudbury

Ontario Nature Region: Northern - East

The committee was formed in 1999. It arose out of a number of public forums, each attended by over 150 citizens. Our mission is: "To restore all life to the Junction Creek ecosystem: native wildlife, insect and plant life, and to improve the quality of life for humans as well".

The committee meets monthly (usually the first Wednesday of the month) to co-ordinate citizen participation in environmental restoration and awareness activities in an effort to:

•Re-green lands adjacent to the creek;
•Reduce soil erosion;
•Re-engineer the creek bed and banks; and
•Improve water quality.

If you would like more information on committee meetings, please email us.

In 2008, the Junction Creek Stewardship Committee incoporated as a non-profit.
