Nature's Calling Environmental Education

Town: Simcoe

Ontario Nature Region: Carolinian East

Nature's Calling Environmental Education (NCEE) symbolizes a call to action to reconnect to, and embrace the natural world around all of us. Formed in 2009, the group's mission is to connect youth and families with nature and the outdoors, raise awareness and appreciation of the natural world, and foster a strong environmental ethic through community based education and engagement. Located in the heart of Carolinian Canada, NCEE operates in a region that boasts the highest diversity of plants and animals in Canada, a vast array of habitat and natural areas, nature trails and outdoor activities, and a community with a strong environmental ethic.

Through partnerships with Bird Studies Canada, St. Williams Forestry Interpretive Centre, Long Point Region Conservation Authority, Norfolk County Recreation & Community Services and the Norfolk Field Naturalists, NCEE has been able to deliver curriculum-based environmental education programming and numerous public outreach events. Club events include regular nature hikes for families, annual bio-blitzes, youth eco-camps, shoreline cleanups, and an annual butterfly & dragonfly festival.
