Get Your Green on in the GTA

If you’re in the Toronto area on Saturday July 19th, come visit Ontario Nature at the Live Green Toronto Festival! From 11a.m. - 8p.m. at Yonge-Dundas Square. You’ll meet knowledgeable member volunteers and our youth ambassadors while experiencing Toronto’s largest outdoor festival celebrating all things green. You can enjoy local foods, the Green Street Market and share your love of nature at Ontario Nature’s booth. See you there!

Protect Your Share of Lost Bay

Join us in the work of protecting even more of one of Ontario’s most biodiverse regions. We have a time-limited opportunity to acquire a critical land link at Lost Bay Nature Reserve – making two protected spaces into one and creating one of Ontario Nature’s largest reserves. We urgently need your help to raise $250,000 to secure this vital piece of Lost Bay – home to 24 species at risk. By clicking here, you can make a secure online gift to help. Together we can protect even more of one of our province’s most important ecological treasures forever.

New Greenway Guide Released

Released this spring, Ontario Nature's Best Practices Guide to Natural Heritage Systems Planning promotes municipal greenway planning: a strategic approach to land use planning which addresses biodiversity loss and prepare planners for the uncertainties of climate change. The Guide draws on over 50 strong examples from 23 municipalities. These policies help protect and enhance the many benefits that nature provides – things like flood control, pollination, water purification, improved air quality, and much more. The Guide can be downloaded at no charge here. For more information, please contact Joshua Wise joshuaw@ontarionature.org.
