Camp Kawartha / Ontario Nature Youth Nature Camp
Join with fellow campers to explore the natural world of Ontario's Kawartha Region. Camp Kawartha's Executive Director, Jacob Rodenburg and an Ontario Nature representative will guide these "fledgling" young naturalists through 3 and a half days of learning about the plants and animals of Ontario. As well as participating in our regular camping programs such as climbing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and much more, campers in this session will be exposed to exciting, hands-on nature adventures. From learning the phrasing of bird songs to unusual hunting tactics of praying mantids, campers will become aware of such critical concepts as habitat, diversity and endangered species. Nature activities created by Ontario Nature will also be part of this program. Ontario Nature is pleased to endorse Camp Kawartha's nature-based programming for this event. Camp Kawartha is an accredited member of the Ontario Camping Association and is celebrating its 87th year of camping in 2008. 2008 Camp Dates
