Where you will stay (when applicable):

Simple:

Often camping, and participants will be asked to bring a tent. It is also recommended that participants bring a sleeping mat. Cooking and washing facilities are basic, and showers may not be available everyday.

Standard:

Dormitory style accommodations. Facilities usually include bunk-beds and showers.

Superior:

Cottages, hotels and field study centers. Showers and beds are available (usually in twin or single rooms) as well as separate eating areas.

Spring City Treeplant, April 18, 2010

Celebrate spring with Ontario Nature by helping to revitalize the banks of the Don River in Toronto. Learn about the importance of the Don Watershed as you plant much-needed native trees and shrubs along its banks.

Get your hands dirty and make new friends, all the while contributing to a healthy, vibrant ecosystem. All tools will be provided – just bring your enthusiasm and a bottle of water!

This event will last approximately three to four hours on the 18th.

Reptile and Amphibian Ramble at Altberg, May 8-9, 2010

Amphibians play a critical role as indicators of ecosystem health. Join Ontario Nature’s Reptile and Amphibian Atlas crew for our fourth annual amphibian survey at Altberg Wildlife Sanctuary Nature Reserve.

Guided by expert herpetologists, you will learn how to identify and locate salamanders, frogs and more. You will also have the chance to explore the Reserve, join a bird walk, and enjoy the Kawartha Lakes region.

All equipment, food and training will be provided.

Reptile and Amphibian Ramble at Kinghurst, May 15-16, 2010

The Reptile and Amphibian Atlas staff is headed to the Kinghurst Forest in Grey County, and they need your help!

Spend a weekend exploring the Forest in search of provincially rare salamanders, frogs, turtles and more. Meet fellow nature enthusiasts and contribute to the ecological inventory work being done on the reserve to monitor these important species.

All equipment, food and training will be provided.
