The Oak Ridges Moraine Partnership (Ontario Nature, EcoSpark, STORM Coalition and Earthroots) and the Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition are hosting this evening reception to celebrate Simcoe’s natural heritage and to acknowledge the role that the community has in protecting nature.
Natural heritage system planning is an important tool to address biodiversity loss, land use change and the uncertainties of climate change. The Province, upon the advice of a special panel chaired by David Crombie, has released for consultation a draft Natural Heritage System for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH).
At this reception, we will acknowledge the progress we’ve made, and still need to make, in natural heritage protection to ensure that future generations have access to a healthy natural environment with clean air, land and water across the GGH. This includes celebrating nature and acknowledging the critical involvement of community members to protect nature, water and communities in Simcoe County and beyond.
There will be light refreshments, a cash bar and brewery tours!
Please RSVP by September 15, 2017. Space is limited.
