This blog is the first in a series that will celebrate the Oak Ridges Moraine and engage readers in the upcoming review of the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan. Learn more about the moraine and plan review by visiting marvellousmoraine.ca.
The Oak Ridges Moraine is a winter wonderland filled with breath-taking vistas, cold-hardy wildlife and communities, and numerous recreational opportunities. While some of us are lucky enough to live right on the moraine, the rest of us can access it easily.
Don’t let the cold stop you from enjoying the moraine this winter. Dress warmly and explore this gem of a landscape! And don’t forget to share your experiences with us by submitting photos, poems and art work to the ‘Marvel at the Moraine’ contest!
Learn more about the Oak Ridges Moraine’s ecology, geology, recreation opportunities and conservation plan in this ON Nature article.
