Volunteer for Nature Leadership Training Course

When: April 12-13, 2008

Where: YMCA Outdoor Centre near Kitchener, Ontario Nature

Cost: $50

Are you interested in building your conservation and leadership skills? Volunteer for Nature’s two-day training sessions teach the skills necessary to successfully head up conservation volunteer groups, and will certify you to lead Volunteer for Nature excursions with Ontario Nature.

Training Course Components

• Level I: Introduction to Conservation project Leadership – this introductory session will introduce participants to the Volunteer for Nature program, and outline general leadership concepts and techniques, communication strategies and problem solving skills.
• Level II: Advanced Conservation Project Leadership – the second level of the training course will emphasize skills in motivating and training volunteers, dealing with challenging situations, project site safety and emergency management.

During the Volunteer for Nature Leadership Training Course, you will also learn about conservation issues in Ontario and some of the stewardship projects that Volunteer for Nature participants have completed in past years.
